The second round matches will be held at 10 a. m. Saturday morning with the consolation or third place matches scheduled Brovnstovn Freshmen Keep On Winning title. Wintin feels the battle for the team title will be between his team, Floyd Central and New Albany. "Floyd Central will be awful hard to beat.
They have a good tournament team. New Albany will be tough. Jennings County will be pretty decern, but I don't think they have enough over-all strength to win it. "I think we ha ve seven or eight or maybe nine kids that can place. I think we got hurt in some of the draws." The first and second place finishers in each weight advance to the Bloomington Regional, which will be Feb.

The Owl coach said he felt some of his wrestlers should have been seeded higher than they were, and that some of his un-seeded wrestlers got tough draws in the first round. Floyd Central edged the Owls for the team title last year. In the Seymour Invitational this season, the Owls edged the Highlanders, 90-87, for the team The Brownstown Central freshman basketball team continued its winning ways Tuesday afternoon by pounding Corydon, 72-43. Brownstown jumped out to a 25- first quarter lead and was never in trouble.
Jeff Brown led Brownstown with 27, Jim Brown scored 14, and Marvin Oakes 12. The Brownstown team doubled the score on Corydon, 56-28. Fran Beatty scored 14, Frank Lahrman 13, and Bruce Beick-man 10. Saturday the A team won the Springs Valley Tournament, defeating Orleans, 38-27, and the hosts, 34-33. Jeff Brown paced the win over Orleans with 11.

The win evened the junior Owls' record at 4-4. Coach Tom Waldkoetter mentioned three boys broke the junior high school record for the most wins in a season. Scott Brown held the old record of 10 wins. Frank Wintin finished with a 14-1 record, Mark Dixon was 13-4, and Steve Zarick was 11-5.

The Pioneers and Tigers posted wins in the Seymour Boys' Club Junior League Toes-day. The Pioneers trailed, 19-71, at the half against the Hawks, but outscored the Hawks, 28-2, in the second half to pull away for the easy win. Mike McCoy scored 14, Larry McReynolds 13, and Leonard Hickam 12 for the winners while Gary Hunnicutt scored 11 for the Hawks. The Tigers won by forfeit over the Stars. The Eagles and Rams picked up easy wins in the Cadet League.
The Eagles held a 154 half-time lead over the Aces and went on to a 37-13 win. Keith Bowman led the winners with 16 points with John Wietbof 10. Tracy Clark was high for the Aces with six.
