An EF1 tornado developed near Spragueville and traveled about a mile before returning to the sky June 25, according to the National Weather Service, which said wind speeds reached about 100 mph.
Severe storms in the area prompted tornado watches and warning across eastern Iowa and western Illinois that afternoon.
